Bills embrace pink for breast cancer | WIVB.com

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Niagara Falls had a distinctly pink look Friday night. The Cataract City was lit up for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pink lights illuminated the Falls and members of the Buffalo Bills spent part of the evening there to promote their "Billieve" initiative to support early detection and a cure. This issue hits close to home for Bills outside linebacker Bryan Scott, whose cousin received a breast cancer diagnosis.

"It's been a struggle. It's been a serious struggle. Up until, actually a couple days ago, they didn't think she was going to be able to travel up here. The pain that she's going through, the treatments that she's going through, mild depression, it's just a lot. You know and it takes its toll on the entire family," Scott said.

He and other NFL players are wearing pink with their uniforms all month long. The Hard Rock Cafe sponsored a special pink ribbon draped across the Rainbow Bridge. And the Maid of the Mist is handing out pink ponchos instead of their traditional blue ones.
